Slovak pop sensation ADÉLA has released her long-awaited debut album "PRIMA" for Capitol Records (Universal Music Group). The album, executive co-produced by Blake Slatkin and Dylan Brady, is the sound of a young woman coming into her own, going full speed ahead towards her life's dream of becoming a pop star and chronicling every step of the way through song.
The album "PRIMA" arrives together with a new music video for the song "Nicole Kidman". The video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis and is full of references to some of Oscar winner Nicole Kidman's most famous roles in the films "Eyes Wide Shut", "Moulin Rouge", "Birth" and "Babygirl", as well as her commercial for AMC Theatres.
Speaking to W Magazine about the song's inspiration, ADÉLA recalled: "Somehow I got invited to an event for the Golden Globes. I've never acted in a movie, but they completely groomed me, put on a dress, did my hair, and I looked really good. My hair was amazingly full and the corset was so tight that I thought, 'I feel like Nicole Kidman right now.' I actually watched 'Eyes Wide Shut' and was completely mesmerized by it. To me, she is the epitome of a movie star."
While on her debut EP ADÉLA broke down the gates of the music industry with wall-shaking industrial pop hits, the album "PRIMA" brings a three-dimensional picture of her art.
"I want this album to sound just like a twenty-two-year-old girl," she says. "I've had a lot of bad things happen in my life, which is just part of growing up as a young woman. At my age, a girl is either told, 'She's very deep,' or, 'She's fun and doesn't take anything seriously.'
On the album "PRIMA", the pop princess shows the ability to stand out, but at the same time pays tribute to the artists who first introduced her to the world of pop music.
