KAL returned directly to the fifth place of the World Music Charts Europe!
The new album Cinema Caravan, released on October 30, 2026 on CPL-Music, is already in the top five on the November 2026 chart.
The list is compiled by 45 radio music experts from 25 countries. The extent of international competition is indicated by the fact that in 2025, 935 editions from all over the world were nominated for the WMCE.
A combination of pure energy and a sound that will never leave your mind or your body indifferent - that's the composition of Kal.
Eclectic rhythm, created by combining the music of the Western Balkans with swing, jazz, blues and pop, brings a completely new and original sound that is present from the first to the last chord.
The group was founded in 1996. Since then, they have held more than a thousand concerts abroad. They performed at all major European festivals: Fusion Festival (Germany), Pepsi Sziget Festival (Hungary), Berlinale (Germany), EXIT Festival (Serbia), Belgrade Beer Fest (Serbia), Kustendorf Film and Music Festival (Serbia), Nišville Jazz Festival (Serbia)...

Dragan Ristić, guitarist and frontman of the group, besides music, is involved in acting, theater production and performance. He participated in film projects as a translator for the Romani language.
For Emir Kusturica’s film *Black Cat, White Cat*, Dragan Ristić wrote the lyrics for the song "Bubamara," which became a hit. The band KAL opened the first Kustendorf festival in 2008.
He performed in Helsinki with Finnish bassist Sami Yaffa, with whom he later collaborated on numerous musical projects.
Since 2014, he has organized and directed the FRCA festival (Festival of Roma Culture and Activism) in Belgrade. The festival was launched with the aim of fostering greater inclusion of the Roma people into mainstream society.
Following years of active social work and the fight for the human rights of minorities in Serbia, Dragan Ristić returned to music.
The music they create is characterized by a Balkan style and Roma rhythms, an original and unexpected fusion that sounds both traditional and urban. At its core lies the distinct aesthetic of minor scales; it is therefore no surprise that Western music critics have dubbed the style brought by this Roma group "Rock’N’Roma" or "Gypsy Rockabilly."
