In Memoriam: Goran Bare

Goran Bare, the legendary singer and frontman of the cult Croatian rock band Majke, has passed away at the age of 62.

He began his musical journey in childhood, and in late 1984, he founded Majke with friends; the band attracted critical attention and heralded a major breakthrough with their 1990 album, *Razum i bezumlje*.

Severe personal tragedies, including the death of guitarist Marin Pokrovac and the passing of his wife, Mirjana, marked his life, yet simultaneously became a powerful source of emotion in his songs.

The album *Vrijeme je da se krene* brought him widespread popularity, and songs such as "Mene ne zanima" and "A ti još plačeš" became anthems for an entire generation.

Following his solo release *Izgubljen i nađen*, Bare returned to the scene with Majke via the 2011 album *Teške boje*, which won six Porin awards.

His raw vocals, distinctive songwriting style, and songs infused with personal struggles have left an indelible mark on the Croatian and regional rock scene.
