An unusual location, red jumpsuits and a surreal atmosphere — “Burden of Proof”, the music video by Bulgarian indie rock band hug or handshake, has been nominated in the Best Art Direction category at this year’s Muzzik Video Awards 5G. The band members have also sent Muzzik TV a special video message inviting audiences to support their work.
Directed by Nikola Atanasov, the video was filmed in an old mineral bath in Yakoruda, Bulgaria.
Its unusual architecture, rows of cubicles and cold, slightly claustrophobic atmosphere became essential elements of the video’s visual identity. The location is more than a backdrop: it actively shapes the story and mood.
Known for their indie rock sound and distinctive visual identity, hug or handshake use “Burden of Proof” to explore an unconventional visual approach. It is precisely these creative choices that make the video’s Best Art Direction nomination particularly compelling.
