Singer-songwriter Ivan Jegdić released the single and music video "Milena", published by the production company Long Play. Jegdić is the complete author of the song, he also did the arrangement, while Marcelo Kruger was in charge of mixing and mastering.
Jegdić released the new track three months after the single "Jedno mesto", which he emphasized was a turning point in his understanding of music, writing and composing.
Ivan explains how the unusual track "Milena" was created, which lasts only one minute and 25 seconds.
"It happened in one of the more turbulent periods of my life. 'Milena' is one of the few songs of mine that was finished in 10 minutes - from the music to the lyrics. The initial plan was not to make the song public, because it is very intimate and difficult for me, but the plans changed in August," says Ivan.
The producer of the video, Ana Bogdanović, played a decisive role: "She came up with a great visual idea after just one listen, and we agreed that the great Teodora Dragićević would be ideal for the role of Milena. We wanted the entire audiovisual experience to be simple and emotional, which I think we succeeded in."
Jegdić points out that the vocals in the song were recorded in one "tape".
"They are raw and not perfect, which you can hear in the mix, but they carry a certain emotion and it was impossible to record them again in the same way later, no matter how technically better some subsequent attempts were. I think people can find themselves in the song because everyone has their own Milena," adds the singer-songwriter.
Ivan Jegdić attracted attention with his specific vocals and authentic style, which is a combination of acoustic pop, indie sound, epic motifs and personal lyrics. Before he became known to the general public, he performed as a street musician for two years in Knez Mihailova Street in Belgrade, and he caused great reactions by appearing in the show program "I have talent" in 2016.
So far, he has released two albums and several concept and EP releases, along with a number of singles. He held his first solo concert in Belgrade in 2020 in Božidarac. In addition to solo gigs, he also performed at numerous festivals, including the largest regional ones - Arsenal Fest and Exit.
