At this year's CMC festival in Vodice, Dean, Zoki and Jadran present "Štorija o brodu", a song from the new album that the celebrated trio from Split recorded for "Croatia Records".
The author of the music is Zoran Ukić, and the lyrics are signed by Sani Delić, a respected "man of the sea" from Split, marine engineer, writer and sailor, godfather and friend of Marijan Ban, with whom, according to Ban, he sailed thousands of miles together.
From such an experience, he brings a story about a ship that never set sail, and the forgotten ones we sometimes see around us. In an honest, simple narration, it reminds us of the fate of disappointed expectations when the ship (and the shipbuilder) do not experience purpose and fulfillment, which is certainly a theme that can easily be applied beyond the story of seas, people and ships. Ukić dressed the story in a pleasant melodic ballad format, Jadran Vušković's guitar brings us a recognizable "sea" touch that has always been one of the trademarks of "Daleke Obale", and Dean Dvornik's vocals sound convincing, confessional and intimate.
Because of all of the above, the ship from the shed should still set sail after the launch at the guide festival. And that is a sea of memorabilia in which the best songs about seas and ships last, alongside not only Ban's "Ruzinava Brod" or Vušković's "Od mora do mora" recorded by Zoki, Jadran and društvo with "Daleke obale", but also the anthology ("ships are like people") "Leute moj" by Tom Bebić.
