Rijeka band Mrave Brojim presents “Oštećeni”, the second single from the current album “Nezavisna Država Dvorište”, released on May 8th by Mravonauk Records / PDV Records. The single is accompanied by a new video directed by Aleš Suk, which was released on August 28th.

“Oštećeni” builds a dark, industrial atmosphere that relies on elements of post-punk, electronica and psychedelia, evoking the aesthetics of bands like Laibach and Kraftwerk. A good part of the song is sung in German, while in the chorus it returns to the Croatian and simple question: “I don’t know yet, is it a shame.”

“Oštećeni” begins with a short, hidden ethno intro “Milovane”, which is not listed as a separate song on the album and is in unexpected contrast to the rest of the song.

The main protagonist of the video is Žorž, the orange eminence of Mrave Brojim and the well-known headless doll, who this time travels around Rijeka in a wheelchair. Filmed in numerous city locations, Žorž walks among random passers-by and becomes the center of a small story about damage, memory, and unanswered questions.

The passers-by in the video are not extras. They were filmed in public spaces, and their encounters with Žorž and reactions to the unusual protagonist arose spontaneously, giving the directed concept of the video a documentary dimension.

The video is signed by Aleš Suk, the band's long-time visual collaborator. The idea originated within Mrava Brojim, and together with Suk it was developed into the final concept and
