Richard Carter & Qveen Herby - Overnight

Unexpected blend of viral internet culture and a musical legacy spanning almost a century

Australian producer and composer Richard Carter and American rapper, singer-songwriter and internet sensation Qveen Herby present their new single and music video "Overnight", a release born from an unexpected blend of viral internet culture and a musical legacy spanning almost a century.

The song was written by Richard Carter and Qveen Herby, while mixing and mastering were handled by Duwayne John Phinisey.

The accompanying video was directed by Nick Noonan.

The story behind "Overnight" began when Qveen Herby shared a viral reinterpretation of Carter's track "Le Monde" on social media.

However, the roots of this musical thread stretch much further back. In "Le Monde", Richard Carter sampled Édith Piaf's 1957 classic "La foule", which itself is a French adaptation of the celebrated South American waltz "Que nadie sepa mi sufrir", composed by Argentine songwriter Ángel Cabral in 1936.
