Hip-hop legend KRS-One is coming to Zagreb's Boogaloo in early June!

One of the most important voices of the golden age of hip-hop will perform on Thursday, June 4th at Boogaloo as part of his big European tour "My Philosophy". As the architect of the boom-bap sound and one of the most influential MCs of all time, KRS-One has lived up to his nickname "The Teacher" for decades, combining superb lyricism, social awareness and rawness - the energy of true hip-hop. This will be his first performance in Zagreb.

Early bird tickets are sold out, while tickets priced at 59 euros are available through Entrio and at their points of sale.

As a special introduction to the concert in Zagreb, KRS-One will hold an exclusive masterclass and promotion of his new book "My Philosophy: Hip Hop Beyond Fun" at Jiggy Music Bar the day before, on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 5 to 8 p.m. Only the fastest 50 fans will have the opportunity to hear firsthand the man who defined modern hip-hop and shaped it for decades in a culture far beyond the boundaries of music.

More than a rapper, Lawrence "Kris" Parker, better known as KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over NearlyEveryone), was born in the Bronx, New York, and is considered one of the most influential rappers and producers of all time. He began his career as the leader of the cult band Boogie Down Productions, with whom he redefined hardcore rap in the late 1980s with the album "Criminal Minded", one of the key releases in the history of hip-hop.

After the tragic death of DJ Scott La Rock, he launched the "Stop the Violence Movement", an initiative against violence within African-American communities, which further strengthened the status of an artist who sees hip-hop as a tool for education, awareness and social change.

While many have turned rap into a trend, KRS-One has treated it as such for four decades.
Known for his uncompromising lyrics and incredible live energy, throughout his career he has criticized police brutality, institutional racism and the commercialization of the music industry, and his lectures have been held at prestigious American universities such as Harvard, Yale and Stanford. His concerts are not just performances but hip-hop rituals in which the audience becomes part of the culture itself.

With timeless classics such as "Sound of da Police", "MC's Act Like They Don't Know" and numerous other anthems of the golden age, KRS-One brings the very essence of hip-hop to Zagreb: raw, honest and just as strong today as it was thirty years ago.

The main organizer of the tour is the German agency Latfro, while the local support is the concert's co-organizers, the legendary Zagreb DJ Phat Phillie and his Blackout Hip-Hop association, which additionally guarantees an authentic atmosphere and an evening the likes of which the domestic hip-hop scene has not seen in a long time. It's a shame to miss it, see you on June 4th at Boogaloo!
