One of the most recognizable domestic jazz ensembles and the only orchestra in the Balkans that has been continuously performing Dixieland Jazz for a quarter of a century, will celebrate the jubilee with a concert with numerous guests and a program dedicated to the music that has accompanied it since its foundation in 2001.
The day has finally come when the Belgrade Dixieland Orchestra celebrates 25 years of artistic creativity. "On the fingers of one hand, you can count jazz ensembles in Serbia that can boast of their continuous existence for a period of a quarter of a century" say the orchestra and emphasize that the Belgrade Dixieland Orchestra during all that time was and remained the only traditional jazz orchestra not only in Serbia, but also in the wider area of the entire Balkans!
Since 2001, this orchestra has been synonymous with the representative cultural ambassador of its capital, with over 300 all-night concerts, 6 official albums and performances at the biggest jazz festivals in Western Europe, thus becoming, unfortunately, more popular in the world than in its own country...
Being an artistic, private jazz institution is probably the most difficult undertaking in Serbia today, especially in an era when jazz is slowly dying out and giving way to new and more superficial musical forms. Nevertheless, for two and a half decades, eight brave men stoically withstood all possible blows, difficult moments, as well as top artistic successes and achievements. It is already clear to everyone that this artistic team has left behind a deep, indelible mark and heirs who will one day take care of the future of jazz, the most important cultural creation of the 20th century.

It was a great courage to embark on sailing the sea that Serbian jazz bands have not sailed to this day. From the very beginning, the Belgrade Dixieland Orchestra functioned as a mobile, traveling museum of old, original jazz that, through its emphasized educational role, had a huge impact on many young music lovers and future musicians. As the only jazz group in the country whose concert program has a priority educational concept, it was officially introduced in 2011 and in the official textbooks for music education for the 8th grade of elementary school.
"In addition to a lot of guests, a very small number of tickets have been allocated for our festive concert," say the orchestra and invite fans of their music to celebrate this great jubilee with them on October 1 in the Great Hall of the Madlenianum.
Tickets at a price of RSD 2,000 are on sale online and at the Madlenianum box office.
