Urban&4 build a song from the best wood and thinnest strings

Urban: "I'm less and less interested in perfection"

While the music industry is increasingly aggressively seeking perfection, Urban is going in the opposite direction.
The new single "I will build a song for you" is reduced to a minimum and it is precisely in this minimalism that it finds a space that most productions today do not have. For decades, one of the most authentic authors of the regional music scene, Urban has built a recognizable artistic signature that never agreed to compromises during his career, from Laufer to Urban&4.
His songs have always lived between vulnerability and strength, intimacy and rebellion, and it is this ability to turn emotion into a universal language that makes him one of the most important singer-songwriters in this area.

The new song "Sagradit ču ti pesume" continues exactly that path. Instead of striving for perfection, Urban today chooses simplicity and immediacy. Acoustic guitar, voice and lyrics are again at the center of his music.

"I don't think it's a secret that I somehow fundamentally resist the penetration of technology into all aspects of life, and especially into these artistic ones. More and more often I only have an acoustic guitar in my hand, I fix recordings less and less, I'm less and less interested in perfection in creation and performance, I believe more and more that the text is what carries a certain song. And then I think it's unnecessary to try to explain to the audience what they should hear and feel, what I wanted to say with the text - I'm sure that everyone will find and hear exactly what they want in the song she or he needs it," says Urban.

This philosophy also permeates the visual identity of the song. The music video for "I will build you a song" was directed by Milica Czerny Urban, his life partner and the person who witnessed the creation of the song itself.

"Given that she witnessed the creation of the song and was its first listener, the decision came quite naturally for Milica to record the music video and thus enhance the story of the song with a picture. I was a little skeptical at first, but then I gave in and respected her conviction that natural light is always more beautiful than any reflector, that real life is always the most vital and that sometimes small things are bigger than big ones," added Urban.

Their shared aesthetic has previously created some of the most intimate videos, and this time the emphasis was placed on authenticity, atmosphere and emotion, without the need for large-scale production interventions. As many times before, Urban confirms that the most profound things often happen precisely in silence and simplicity.

In recent years, Urban has increasingly returned to a more stripped-down, acoustic expression, which the audience and critics recognized through songs and projects that were created outside of standard production patterns. Instead of relying on technology and trends, the focus remains on the song as a space of honest communication between the author and the listeners.

"Perhaps we can no longer follow fashion or trends in music, but we can dedicate ourselves to writing and creating songs with even more enthusiasm and be as honest as possible, to ourselves and to the audience," concludes Urban.

"I will build you a song" is not just a new song, it is a reminder that music can still be a place of closeness, emotion and humanity. Without excess noise, without the need for explanations, strong enough for everyone to find their own story in it.
