Zlatko Djogić, better known as the drummer and singer of the band Prismojeni profesorji bluesa, is increasingly revealing his own musical world with the slatkor project. There, as a solo producer, songwriter and singer, he moves between different genres and vocal colors, from the trap “anthem” BTC GRL GNG, to the song Izrael performs genocide, now with a new single - Bolechino.
The new song from the slatkor creator, Bolechino, begins as a personally confessed call for a different life. Through emotional lyrics, the song opens up themes of loneliness, devotion to fate and sadness, until it focuses on love, as the only criterion that gives value to life. Sonically, the song is of an experimental nature, the only traditional thing on it is the drums, all other elements are synthesized, distorted and more or less indistinguishable from their original.
“When I played the demo of this song to a friend, she looked at me at the end and asked me with all seriousness if she could help me and what sorrows were plaguing me. Only then did I realize the expressiveness of this text, because I was really tired when I created it.” - Zlatko Djogić, slatkor
The project, which is just starting out, quickly moved onto the stage. Listeners were finally able to hear it live at the šMent festival in Ljubljana’s Kino Šiški, where the songs came to life in a new light, with the help of live drums and individual musical guests.
“I thought that these songs would remain just recorded for a long time, that I wouldn’t perform them live. But when I found myself on stage for the first time, I decided that I wanted to perform them live. The energy of the audience and the fact that I can play the drums while singing along excites me immensely. So I will definitely perform more.” - Zlatko Djogić, slatkor.
