FRODO presents a funky debut single and music video from his upcoming debut album! The video for the song "Shupak" was filmed in a student room in Vienna and tells a satirical story about a young person who is deeply insecure and unhappy, finding fulfillment only through social validation. The song was released under the JeboTon label.
FRODO is a new name on the JeboTon label, the alter ego of Juraj Valentić, who is currently preparing his debut album, titled "B€Č". The album will feature a diverse range of genres, with a concept revolving around comical, satirical societal figures who are products of capitalism and hyper-consumerism. "Shupak" is the lead single announcing this debut release.

"Shupak" is a song about young alternative types who, after failing to prove themselves to an urban environment that prizes uniqueness and individualism above all else, slide into selfishness, emotional alienation, and superficiality. Societal perception can have a profound impact on all of us; instead of genuinely cultivating good taste in art and altruism, some of us often opt for a superficial persona. This gives rise to the "shupak", a deeply insecure and unhappy individual who relies solely on social validation for a sense of completeness. "Of course, the 'shupak' couldn't be further removed from the person they pretend to be," FRODO explained regarding the song's lyrical inspiration.
The music video for "Shupak" was filmed by Karlo Oto Lekić and edited by Adam Mišković. Juraj Valentić is responsible for the music and lyrics, while Alen Pavlić played the alto saxophone on the track. The cover art was designed by Kristina Majer. The single, music video, and album were all recorded in a student room in Vienna.
Audiences in Zagreb can hear FRODA live this Friday, October 2, as part of the *Bacili su sve niz rijeku* exhibition organized by KVADAR on the Sava embankment beneath the Močvara club.
The music video for the song "Shupak" is available on the JeboTon YouTube channel, and the single can be streamed on all major platforms.
