We travel, we explore, we find: Flore Benguigui & The Sensible Notes - What A Little Moonlight Can Do

Flore Benguigui, a French jazz singer born and raised in the South of France and former member of L’Impératrice, opens a new chapter with her band The Sensible Notes and the album i-330, released via Decca Records France. Trained at a French music conservatory where she studied jazz, Benguigui combines strong musical foundations with a distinctive artistic voice.

A standout moment comes with their reinterpretation of the classic “What A Little Moonlight Can Do” (1934), transformed into an upbeat, synth-driven version full of fresh energy. The music video, directed by Zite & Leo, visually reinforces this blend of nostalgia and futurism.

The album i-330 draws inspiration from the character in Yevgeny Zamyatin’s dystopian novel We, symbolizing artistic emancipation and creative independence. Recorded live in just five days, the album captures spontaneity and the collective spirit of Benguigui’s long-time collaborators from the Paris jazz scene.

Blending swing, bebop and pop elements, the record bridges analog instrumentation and modern production. Beyond her music career, Benguigui is also active as a DJ and a feminist voice, addressing issues of women in the music industry through her podcast Cherchez la Femme, while actively working toward a more inclusive scene.
