CMAT turns irony into a song with “The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station”

CMAT, the Irish singer-songwriter born Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, has unveiled the official video for “The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station,” a song that blends humour, irony and personal reflection.

The track appears on her third studio album Euro-Country and stands out as one of the record’s most distinctive singles. Despite its provocative title referencing celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, CMAT has explained that the song is not meant as a diss, but rather a self-aware reflection on how pointless irritation and intolerance toward others can be.

Musically, the track mixes indie pop, country influences and alternative textures, driven by an energetic rhythm and CMAT’s characteristically theatrical vocal delivery.

The official video, directed by Eilís Doherty, also features Jamie Oliver himself in a playful narrative inspired by the song. The clip premiered during CMAT’s headline performance at London’s Alexandra Palace.
