One of the most popular pop-rock bands from the former Yugoslavia, NEKI TO VOLE VRUĆE, returns to Belgrade after more than three decades! The Zagreb band led by Šomi and Đimi will hold a concert at Zappa Baza on Friday, September 4, 2026, bringing an evening filled with timeless hits, nostalgia and energy that still make them one of the most sought-after concert bands in the region.
Tickets are available through the Hangtime website at a price of 2,000 dinars as part of the early bird contingent. After its sale, the pre-sale price will be 2,400 dinars, while on the day of the concert, if there are any left, it will cost 2,700 dinars. Physical tickets will soon be available at the Catacomb Bar and Zappa Bar.
NEKI TO VOLE VRUĆE was founded in Zagreb in 1985 by childhood friends Silvestar Dragoje - Šomi and Miroslav Stanić - Đimi after playing countless games of table tennis. Already with their debut album, they conquered the audience all over Yugoslavia at the time thanks to the hits "California", "Medu moj i šečeru" and "Reci da", which became radio favorites almost overnight. Their blend of modern pop, guitar sound and cutting-edge production set them apart from most of the scene at the time, and many described them as the country's answer to western pop with a rocker attitude. The second album "Jeans generacija" additionally launched them to the peak of popularity, with the songs "Jeans generacija" and "Teška vremena", which marked the second half of the eighties.
During their career, they released seven studio albums, one concert album and several compilations, leaving behind a series of songs that have become an indispensable part of the regional pop culture.
They collaborated with numerous prominent authors, including Alka Vuica, Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni and producer Duško Mandić, who significantly shaped their distinctive sound. After a successful first decade of work, the band members briefly went their separate ways, but they reunited in the mid-2000s and continued the concert story.
The return to the stage coincided with a new wave of interest in the music of the eighties, so their songs were discovered by younger generations. Today, they perform in front of audiences of all ages, confirming that their hits have long outgrown the time in which they were created. The band's concerts are known for their excellent atmosphere, the audience's joint singing and the inexhaustible energy of Shomi and Jimi. Regardless of whether you grew up listening to their songs or only discovered them in recent years, the upcoming Belgrade concert will be a rare opportunity to experience them live again. After more than thirty years, SOME LIKE IT HOT are finally returning to Belgrade! It's a shame to miss it.
